The theme of this year’s Professional Development Conference says it all for me – “Collaboration. Collective Wisdom”.
This is the one conference I look forward to attending each year because it gives me the opportunity to interact with and learn from colleagues and peers from across the country and around the world, in a learning environment tailored to the health, safety and environmental practitioner.
It’s our opportunity to learn from each other, and to share knowledge and experiences – both formally and informally. The CSSE PDC is an ideal way to meet people who share your passion for your chosen field of practice – people who may one day be your colleagues, your subject-matter specialists – even your mentors. Or perhaps someone just embarking on a career in this field is looking to be mentored by you?
The interactive workshops and concurrent sessions in this year’s program have been carefully selected based on feedback from previous conferences – and the program schedule has been balanced to provide learning opportunities for practitioners across multiple industries and at various levels of experience.
Social media has become an important communication medium, and the CSSE is continually exploring innovative ways to incorporate its use in interactions between and among members. Having an opportunity to make personal connections can help to enhance those online conversations. The CSSE PDC is the perfect venue for building your network of professional colleagues. I look forward to meeting you in Whistler!
