“Prevention Solutions that Work” A CSSE Poster Contest

The “Prevention Solutions that Work” poster contest deadline of August 2nd is fast approaching. Start preparing your solution now – win cash prizes and be recognized by your peers for your innovative solution!

All CSSE members and/or conference delegates who have met a health and safety challenge in their workplace are encouraged to submit an entry. Prevention Solutions do not need to be complex – in fact, ideas that are simple, practical, and effective tend to be the most useful.

Each conference delegate will be given a ballot that he or she will use to choose which entry he or she feels best resolves a health and safety challenge. The following criteria will be used to judge the solutions:

-Presentation – packaging the idea for others to use
-Innovation – unique, cost effective solutions to common issues
-Effectiveness – measurable, outcome-based solutions
-Transferable – adaptable to a variety of workplaces

More information on how to participate can be found on the CSSE website. If you have any questions, please contact the CSSE office at (416) 646-1600 or conference@csse.org.

CSSE 2010 PDC: Workshop Highlight

Have you registered for the upcoming CSSE 2010 PDC? This year’s conference program includes five half-day workshops aimed at maximizing your time and education, including:

Global Risk Management Tools Adapted for Local Practice
Presented by: Fred Leafloor, CHSC, CRSP, CRM, President, Safety First Industrial Safety Services

Global Processes in Operational Risk Management introduce a number of internationally-used qualitative processes for “Operational Risk” identification, assessment, and management. Some best applied during pre-loss activity planning stages, these processes promote a broader awareness of potential risk issues that may degrade success and help to consider what risk-control strategies may best be applied.

Leveraging Global Processes for Local Practice is the workshop portion of Global Processes in Operational Risk Management and guides participants through evaluation and application exercises through reviewing the previous session’s processes and templates, to assess their applicability to work activities in Canada. Participants will take away an understanding of how these global tools can be adapted for local practice.

*Please note a maximum of 50 participants may attend workshop.

You don’t want to miss this valuable educational opportunity. Register before June 30th and save up to 130 dollars with the Super Early Bird Rate.
